The team had an amazing few days at Essen Spiel in Germany over the weekend. We played games, showcased products, ate lots of good food … oh, and raised over €12,000 for Big Change Charity – smashing our €10,000 target!
We had a cracking start to the weekend. The Sales and Catalogue teams helped to set up the show and were the first to welcome lots of happy gamers to our stand. With games flying off the shelves, we raised over €2,000 just on the first day!
The rest of the team arrived ready for the weekend and enjoyed an evening of steins, sausages and social games! Between catching up with the other teams and talking show tactics, we played PP’s very own Would You Rather? card game in the hopes of winning an extra holiday day.
All set and ready for day 3, the team got stuck into game demo-ing, pitching sales, and browsing the other stands. We had a great time meeting other game developers and learning to play lots of new and different games. Our game designers experienced their 15 minutes of fame as they were asked to sign games for some adoring fans (customers). We also reached our €10,000 target!
We celebrated with some delicious pizzas and more party games … because no matter how many games we play, we always have time for more!
The final day saw our running total hit over €12,000! A well earned victory for the whole team, especially those who had spent time playing games with potential customers, explaining instructions and helping keep the products stocked up on our shelves. A full team effort for an incredible result that’s hopefully going to make a huge difference.
